The Golden Ass

I just finished reading the Golden Ass of Lucius Apuleius - originally in Latin from the second century - on the Kindle in a sixteenth century translation, which I downloaded free from Project Gutenberg. It was a bawdy and entertaining tale.
The witch Meroe in the story is a lamia.
